Well, I woke up this morning tired and hungry (or “hangry,” as my daughter says) and googled this phrase: “Ken Wapnick scarcity.” To my surprise, the first thing that came up was an interview I had originally done with Ken in 2012 entitled “Be Gentle with Yourself.” https://www.google.com/search?q=Ken+wapnick+scarcity&oq=Ken+wapnick+scarcity&aqs=chrome..69i57.5039j0j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
Gentleness, especially with the puny self I still think I am, has never been my forte, so I decided to give Ken’s interview another read. Among other topics, we also talked about Ken’s wonderful CD set Cast No One Out: Making It About Them. https://facimstore.org/products/cast-no-one-out-making-it-about-them. I had just dug that workshop out last week and had been listening again with wonder and gratitude for how relevant it seemed to my current experience.
Anyway, in the interview I talked to Ken about how applying the premise “making it about them” revealed how much I secretly want to make everything about me (that scarcity again, that relentless neediness we experience from believing we fled real Love forever and can never find our way back). Ken’s gentle response feels even more deeply relevant to my journey and practice today. Hope you’ll find it helpful, too!
